    Discover Kilburn

At Homeview Estates, we don’t just sell homes—we introduce you to communities. There aren’t many places in London offering the energy, diversity, and character quite like Kilburn. Nestled in northwest London and spanning the boroughs of Brent, Camden and Westminster,  Kilburn is a lively, well-connected neighbourhood that continues to attract everyone from first-time buyers to seasoned investors.

    A little bit of History

    • A small religious community was established around 1134, known as Kilburn Priory. The priory remained active until the Dissolution of the Monasteries under Henry VIII in the 1530s.
    • 17 – 18th Century:  Kilburn remained rural and sparsely populated, consisting mainly of farmland and a few inns
    • 19th Century: Kilburn’s major growth began with the railway boom. The Metropolitan Railway (now part of the Jubilee Line) and other railways reached the area in the mid-19th Century.
    • The arrival of Kilburn Park Station (1915) and Kilburn High Road Station (1852) stimulated housing development and population growth.
    • Victorian and Edwardian houses were built to accommodate London’s growing working and middle classes.
    • 20th Century: Kilburn became known for its larger Irish Community, especially after World War II, earning the name ‘County Kilburn’ and Irish pubs, clubs and cultural centres were central to community life.
